 Even though the general trend is that call centres are moving to India and China, you can still start working for one from the comfort of your home. Have you ever wondered where your favourite company’s call centre support is coming from? Rest assured that it is not located in the same building as the main head quarters.

 You need to find a fast computer that is not used by your children for games and homework. You are in a business and cannot afford to have your call references deleted. I have deleted (on many occasions) my own work by mistake or crashed my own computer repeatedly over the years.

 You need to have multiple answering messages, a fax, a broadband internet connection and big email account like Google Gmail. A well documented business plan and training from a reputable company or institution will help you get your first work when you are starting out.

 Remember that customer service leads indirectly to repeat business for most companies. It is a gold mine that many big corporations tend to forget about but your enthusiasm to build a relationship on behalf of your companies to their customers is going to help build your profile.
