Little victories make a war easier.

Many marketers contact me with little experience asking for my guidance with their online marketing efforts. I always ask them how are they doing now?

This question is simple but it gets people in knotts because they don’t pay attention to what they are doing right. They focus more on what they are doing wrong and the obstacle takes on a life of its own. Pretty soon the person runs out of money and quits the business.

Please focus on improving what you are doing right and do more of it. If you have 1 subscriber then you did something right and you must improve on that. If you cant get them to buy then move on getting more subscribers and test different ways to tell them something.

If you meet an obstacle you must identify it fully and search for a specific solution. Do not be general, if you need to “learn how to…” then look for information about how to. If you want to hire somebody to do it for you then find such a person. Be specific and you will save money in the long run.

Getting that solution and testing it until it works for you will give you another small victory. Gather enough small victories and your momentum will build to colossal speeds and your personal war to make money online will be won.

YOU’VE EARNED IT

These letters are on a Black Label (a beer product from South Africa) billboard inside Khayelitsha (one of the bigger township from Cape Town South Africa.)

These words strike me everytime I drive by the billboard. I don’t even drink beer but the words stir something inside me. I feel a sense of pride, a sense of reward deep inside me.

How many of us actually say, “You’ve earned it!” to ourselves? How does it make you feel when you are trully in the moment and then say it to yourself?

Nothing can replace the sense of accomplishment that you can give yourself when you trully congradulate yourself after a protracted struggle. My parents, my teachers and my professors have said it to me countless times but my thoughts count more than all their compliments combined.

My thoughts would be along these lines:”Thoriso, you own property, you are a qualified medical doctor and a business owner…Thoriso, You’ve earned it!” Thinking that makes me almost tear up.

What about you? Have you taken a long hard look at your accomplishments and told yourself in earnest, “You’ve Earned It.”

It must be in the second person, like you are saying it to yourself as an admirer of your accomplishment through adversity. “I have earned it”, is cliche’d and weak compared to “You’ve earned it!” thats possibly why Black Label used the phrase.

Try this simple exercise, and as always please comment on this post and tell me what you think and felt when you said, “You’ve Earned It.”

Our deepest fear!!

Yesterday while watching the movie Akeelah and the Bee I came across one of the greatest quotes in my life and I believe that you should carefully read it too.

It is a quote by Marianne Williamson for her book A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

I certainly had a light bulb moment. 2009 does not seem intimidating at all after reflecting on the quote above. I hope you enjoy reading the quote and making 2009 your best year ever.

I found Marianne’s book at Amazon for under $10.

Have a great day.
